Happy Baby waking up!
Every morning when we go into get Brin out of bed…this is what we see…a happy, smiling face. She RARELY, if ever, cries in the morning. She is usually talking to herself and looking at her hands and feet in the morning. We knew that we had to get video of how happy she is…it may not last forever…but we’ve got our fingers crossed.

Brin is 4 months old
On September 20th, 2010 Brin turned 4 months old. It is UNBELIEVEABLE to us that 4 months have gone by. In one sense it feels like she has been here the whole 7 years we’ve been married, on the other side, it feels like it was just yesterday! She is an ABSOLUTE JOY! We went for her 4 month check up last week and here are her stats:
She is weighing in at 12.2 lbs.
She is 23 3/4 inches
She had to get 2 more shots. They were not as bad as I thought tho. These were the 2nd version of what she had at 2 months…and she was NOT a happy camper then…I assumed that she would be the same. She really wasn’t that bad.
The things that she is doing/liking:
Rolling to her side consistently
Trying VERY hard to roll over
Pushing her butt up in the air and scootching
Chewing on EVERYTHING
Screeching
Napping 2 times a day
Eating cereal in the morning and evening
Watching EVERYTHING around her
Grabbing toys with 2 hands
Prefers left hand
Sitting up in her Bumbo well
Grabbing feet
Smiling when we say Mama, Dadda Wants to always be touching the dog…it makes her LAUGH to touch Lola.
Brin’s 1st HF football game
On Friday, September 17th we ventured to HF to watch the HF / Lincoln Way East varsity football game. Masons Jr. High band was participating in the game opening and Half time show with the HF marching band. It was really cool. HF invites Parker and James Hart bands, cheerleaders, poms, and community cheer girls to participate in the opening and half time show of one game. Mason had a great time….as did all of us watching the Vikings KILL Lincoln Way! Fun was had by all! Mason is in there somewhere. He plays the trombone. Brin is ready to pass out! It was WAY past her bed time!

It’s time for CEREAL…
We went to Dr. Amin yesterday for Brins 4 month check up. While we were there she said it was time to start on cereal. I was a little surprised to hear that as I thought we wouldn’t start cereal until 5 or 6 months. We waited until this evening to do our first go at the whole cereal thing, Nick was gone early this morning. Here are some pictures that captured the event. Brin was already VERY hungry…not sure if her hunger made this a bigger event than we thought or not.The cereal. The 1st bite
Not too sure about it.
Sealing her lips TIGHT!!
The whining is beginning… and next…the GAGGING! Daddy took over the feeding for a few… Ahhhhh…smooth FORMULA…Just what she was waiting for.NOOOOO…NOT that cereal stuff again!!!
Brin ate just a little bit of the cereal. We fixed 2 table spoonfuls and she didn’t even get 1 tablespoonful down. We will try again tomorrow!

1st visit to Church and Sunday School
Today was Kick Off Sunday at FCC. I am helping Nona again with the 2’s & 3’s. It was also Nicks first day of rugby practice for the season. So, as he headed to practice, we headed to church. Brin wore a cute dress to church and had a GREAT day in the nursery. I captured her cuteness before we left in a photo! :)
After church, we headed to Chris and Nona’s for lunch. We had a nice BBQ lunch. Sofi had Peyton over for a play date. We packed up the car and headed to the splash pad and park for a little fun and then ended the excursion with some DQ ice cream. All in all a GREAT Sunday afternoon.
Trip to Peoria
Yesterday, Saturday, September 11th we ventured down to Peoria to see Nicks family. We left the house about 9:45. made a few pit stops (i.e. Starbuck and gas) and were on our way. We arrived in Peoria about 12:45 to Nick’s 2nd cousin Brady’s peewee football game. Brady had some good plays, but sadly they lost their first game of the season. After the game, we headed back to Bud & Judy’s house for a little while as we waited for the rest of the crew to show up. Eventually we picked a restaurant and headed to Cracker Barrel. After we were done eating, we headed outside and continued our visit for another 15-25 minutes. It was wonderful to get to see everyone and introduce Brin to the Fonner’s. Here are some pictures of our day: Bud, Judy Annalisa and NickTerry & Joy

After leaving Cracker Barrel we headed toward home. We got as far as Veterans Pkwy in Normal, IL and needed a stop at Starbucks. Since we were in Normal, we decided to drive around ISU campus a little bit and see how it has changed in almost 10 years. (that is HARD to believe) Back on the road again and the baby needed to eat, so I climbed to the back to feed her. After she downed 4 ounces QUICKLY, we pulled over to a gas station to fill up and burp Brin. Nick took on the burp duty as I took on gas duty. I had to capture a picture of Nick and Brin playing in the car while I was finishing up the gas! Caught RED HANDED! :)

A BEAUTIFUL Wedding!
On August 21st, we were invited to share in the joy as Claudia and Alisha exchanged vows in Claudia’s childhood backyard. It was one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL ceremonies I have ever been to. We felt so lucky to be able to share this very special time and have Brin there as well. The setting could not have been more beautiful. It was a hot day with an occasional breeze to cool you off. The sun was shining and Bob and Lois’ backyard was filled with friends and family who love Claudia and Alisha. Here are a few pics form the special day… Claudia’s niece Elizabeth was the flower girl Donald and Lois Bob walked/rolled Claudia and Alisha down the isle
