Play date on the floor
Mr. MOM
On Monday, we got home from running errands early so, we decided to go for a walk. The weather was BEAUTIFUL, about 68-70 degrees with blue skies. We were able to take our favorite route which is about 2.5 miles thru the park and a little bit of Flossmoor. Nick had not yet tried to use the carrier with Brin, so he decided it was time. They looked soo cute together and Brin was happy. Nick on the other hand was a trooper…because the carrier is made for a walking person, it really didn’t fit right on him. The baby was “floating” just above his lap, which made for a workout for Nick. She never really stayed in place, kind of flopping around…but she was happy the whole time…even after puking a little bit on Nicks legs (note to self…don’t feed the baby 5 minutes before going for a 45 minute walk where she flops around) Not sure he will want to carry her again like that, but it was a nice break for me…I only had Lola. I love our walks…I am already feeling like I am going to miss them as the weather gets colder.
A new “toy”…
On Monday, Nick took the day to relax after a LONG drive home from Minnesota the night before. We decided that we would spend the day as a family and run errands. We have been noticing that, while she loves all of her toys, Brin was getting a little bored with her normal rounds of toys and play…so Monday we went to Babies R Us and purchased a door jumper. She is in love with it and really catching on quickly to the whole “jumping” motion. Here are a few pictures of her first encounter with the door jumper…
She looks SOOOO teeny tiny in it in person…this picture makes her look REALLY TALL!

Family Dinner
Last night we had what felt like our 1st family dinner. Brin sat in her chair from Aunt Col and Uncle Dom for the 1st time. She did such a good job. It was fun, we ate, fed her, and it felt like a REAL family dinner. The dog insisted on laying under Brins chair. Well, every time Brin would drop a toy, it hit Lola and she went flying across the room. You would think that dog would learn…but she kept going back.
Smelly?

HALLOWEEN…
Brin’s 1st Halloween was good…although she slept MOST of the Trick or Treating hours. Grandma Pam and Grandpa Wally came over to see our little ladybug. She was SUPER cute! BUT I think the cutest was the fact that Brin fell asleep in Wally’s arms and he was beside himself with excitement that he put her to sleep. We feel soo blessed to have them so close, so that Brin can grow up with a Grandma and Grandpa that are not too far…WE LOVE YOU!!!
After our visit with Pam & Wally , Brin slept about an hour more and when she woke, we got ready and headed over to Chris & Nona’s to spend time on their “Movie Like” street for trick or treating and fun. By the time we got there at 5, they had already gone thru all of their candy and had to purchase more. The last count we heard was over 300 trick or treaters on their street. Everyone is out in their driveway with fire pits and food. We really enjoy hanging out over there as our street is NOT like that!
Sofi was not feeling well…she trick or treated for a bit and then came home and rested the remainder of the night. She was a Hippie…very fitting for her personality and she looked really cute. Mason was a Monk. He spent most of the night out with his friends and at parties.
It was a nice Halloween, although Brin has had a cold for several days and Halloween was a rough night for her…next year I hope we will have a healthy toddler…
Finger painting = FUN
Brin has been eating cereal for over a month now. At her 5 month check up Dr. Amin gave us the OK to add more. She told us to mix fruit into her cereal, as fruit is easier for their bellies to digest. She gets cereal in the morning and evening and now we mix 2 TBSP fruit into the cereal and continue the same fruit for 3 days. We have tried pears, apples, bananas, prunes and peaches. We have found out that she DOES NOT LIKE PEACHES! When it came to our 3 day stretch of peaches she locked her lips, turned her head and they stayed that way for 3 days!!! We have thrown away SOO much cereal and peaches in those days…she was having NONE of it…so on Sunday, I still tried and with no luck, we decided to finger paint with our food! I put the peaches and cereal on her tray and let her have at it! She had a TON of FUN!!!
