May 20th, 2011…She’s 1!!!

Today we celebrated Brins 1st birthday. We woke early and drove to Bolingbrook to meet Jessica, Kathy, and Dave at Panera. We had a nice visit with them and celebrated Brin’s 1st year with some gifts. Thank you to them for all of the thoughtful gifts and time spent visiting today!

Brin had a table full of cards and gifts on the table when she woke this morning. We started a tradition in our family about 3 years ago…we have a metal piece of cake container that we put out for the birthday person with a small gift inside to have on the morning of their birthday. Today was Brins 1st time seeing the piece of cake…she had a sweatshirt inside this year.

After our visit in Bolingbrook, we headed home for Brin to nap. We stopped along the way to pick up some cupcakes from Creative Cakes. By the time we arrived home, Brin woke from her nap but was still EXHAUSTED, so we put her down for a continuation of her nap, she never fell back to sleep BUT she did stay in her crib cooperatively for an hour!! ( she laid quietly for a little while, she talked to her animals, she closed her eyes for a while). About 4 o’clock we got her out of bed and took a walk to the park . We had a GREAT time playing on the swings and slide. We returned home for presents and cupcakes with Chris and Nona.

All in all it was a GREAT DAY! Thank you to everyone that called, Skyped, stopped by, sent cards or gifts! We are soo blessed to have such an amazing support system around us! We truly appreciate EVERYONES kindness and love!
